Sumner comes across as a stroppy teenager, especially in Hooky's book which I believe you need to take with a pinch of salt.
 
I went on tour with New order (chef) i ask Barney what was his thoughts on the joy division gigs ,said he didn't remember,told him i saw them at rafters and pips in town he walked of sulking,two weeks later he was in the music pres banging on at early gigs in Manchester,but .Hooky Gillian and Stephen.were great as was alan wise.
