I posted ths in the Tevez thread.. but thought it deserved its own topic.....

The advantage Barcelona and Real Madrid have, is that their domestic league tv package pays them about £50 million more a year than any other clubs. Their league pays them a lot more than any of the other clubs.. This makes FFPR seems impossible to manage. Whats the difference between that, and a owner that kicks in to help with wages?

(looked up the numbers)

Real received £96 million from their league.

Chelsea received £15 million from winning the PL (Man City got 12.4) and all league teams get £14.6 million as part of their of the TV revenue. Man City got 27m total. So you can see that those two spanish teams, have an huge advantage that at some point will make CL's an unfair to compete against them. (if this is about fairness which we know it isnt)

FFP is to keep the established clubs at the top...lol

but in answer to your question FFP is not designed to change the way La Liga does buisness, RM and Barca get 19 times more TV money than the bottom team compared with the EPL champs who get 1.5 times more than the bottom club. its the same with every other league bar the Barca/RM monopoly.

Taxation is lower in Spain than it is anywhere else in Europe and the fan owned models of Barca/RM/Bayern Munich are another way of making money out of the fans...RM/Barca fans have to pay £200 for membership just to be able to buy the £1300 season tickets each year and even to buy a match day seat you must be a member. Bayern have the same system but they discount match day tickets to around £17.

Add to this the price a Barca/RM shirt would cost you around £80 and following these two cash cows can be expensive...whats worse is being a member or fan owner only lets you vote for someone chosen by the board to run for club office every four years.lol

FFP will not have any effect on the big clubs as even with huge debts the two criteria which even us and Chelsea meet is to show a drop in expediture for a two year period...We saved £7 mil on wages with our loanees and ship any players out in the summer and we show on the books we are going in the right direction. Chelsea will be unloading alot of their big earners come the summer so we all should be fine.

wow its taken you this long, in germany for instance they are trying to push even more tv revenue on bayern...its easy the big clubs sell the tv around the world...hence giggs not being seen kicking doyle, you see if he got a ban it might affect trafford in future, they need to be at or near the top to help sell the prem around the world
