I remember that every time I went into Sandpipers, he was there propping up the bar.

Used to see him in the Sandpiper most lunch times after training. He stayed at the hotel when he first moved to City.

Had a great first season with Parlane. Not sure what happened in the second season but he hardly got a game. If you're reading Jim, what happened? Did you have a fallout with Billy McNeill? Shame really, you were a natural goalscrorer.

Yes he did have a fall-out with the manager, he mentions it in the article but doesn't go into details but after it he was only used in the first team in emergencies.

Probably like most City fans , i'd never even heard of Jim Tolmie before he joined us ...... but i've never forgotten him since , that's for sure!

He was one of my all time favourite City players , and a player of great skill and vision ..... what a partnership he formed with Parlane ..... they had goals coming out of their ears.

A terrific signing ..... and by the sounds of it a top bloke too.

Thats magic, yet sixth is now shit. I remember them, they were a six month wonder in the old second.

Jim and Parlane were unstoppable in their pomp.

Unfortunate that Jim fell out with McNeil and lost his place. It also said in the article he was injured for about 4 months in his second season.
