Had hoped we could get a home draw and all go (overseas fans).
Swansea is too far to travel, takes 4hrs each way?
So can you all give tips on things to do with kids (ages 6-12)
Have been to LEGOland Manchester and aquarium already (decent not great)
Any ideas appreciated

Museum of Science and Industry.
Etihad Tour.
Ski Factory and Fun Factory near Trafford Centre.
Museum of Football in Exchange Square.
Theatre shows in the afternoon or evening for young 'uns.

How far around Manchester, will you have access to a car?

In the city centre there are seen good suggestions already. Manchester Art Gallery is also free admission and sometimes have things on for kids.

Worth checking the theatre listings too, opera house, palace, exchange theatre, usually at least one of them had something suited for children on at any one time and daytime shows can be cheaper.

Police museum is also very good, our kids seem to love that one but it's usually deserted so you may get it almost entirely to yourselves.

There is / was also some Manchester underground tours which are good but maybe slightly too spooky for the littlest one. Might also have been suspended as I know they are considering utilising the space underneath Barton arcades now for a club and more.

If you can go further afield by car then I'd recommend maybe a national trust property, if you can get a deal on tickets.

You could do a walking culinary tour. Golden arches for breakfast, greggs lunch then get an uber to nandos at the traff. Your six year old could play on it's phone whilst the 12 year old gets pissed off because it's not near the x-box.

For evening entertainment take a stroll through spice gardens near Piccadilly and marvel at the local street entertainment.
