Hi all, haven’t posted on here in quite a long time & just needed to post somewhere where those reading could understand me on a more deeper level & hopefully offer some kind of advice because I feel like I don’t know what to do with this one or how to resolve it & it’s really effected me lately,
I’ll try to be brief as possible.

14th March 2022, a little over 12 months ago, (moments before the Palace away game I suffered a major & life threatening stroke, I was in hospital for 8/9 months then rehabilitation so last season was pretty much a write off after this.

I got my first season ticket In 1993 in the platt lane with my mum & have been going ever since.
Since moving to the etihad I’ve been in 109 and that was always my home.
Unfortunately due to my mobility issues caused by the stroke my ticket was moved for me because of the stairs, I’ve only been once this season in my new ST seat of level 3 Colin bell stand in a wheelchair but I didn’t enjoy the experience of it all and haven’t been since.
I know it may sound stupid but I just didn’t feel like I could enjoy it being away from where I spent so much time surrounded by friends and people I’ve been around for years in 109. It wasn’t an enjoyable experience at all and it really put me off going back. (There’s been circumstances where I’ve been unable to attend most of this season too, surgeries & other unfortunate things)
A friend surprised me by taking me to the arsenal cup game and was in the south stand lower accessible area, which really felt like an “experience of the old times” pre stroke.

I’ve had horrible thoughts of what if I have to give up my season ticket lately after all these years & I’m unsure on what to do, because I’ve given it serious thought about just cancelling it altogether lately.
I do really miss going, but being honest & I know I may sound like a bit of a tw*t and an ungrateful tosser for this, I just don’t enjoy it up there & I miss my old match day with more recognisable surroundings.

My question is, how easy would it be to relocate an accessible ticket to the lower tier, would I need to wait for the renewal windows and ask then?

Familiarity is normally key to helping in recovery from things such as a stroke, no wonder you’ve found it difficult. First thing to consider (no need to answer) is are you registered disabled now, and if so contact the relevant department at City, they are brilliant at solving issues such as yours, secondly if you are, you’re entitled to have a carer accompany you free of charge, which is something you can arrange pre-season, again with help from disability services at City.
Sometimes we can isolate ourselves in times like these, but you’ve taken a massive stride by putting yourself out there again (on the forum) welcome back! Next step is to get yourself back to a game, why not this week against the dippers ? what better game to return to, try to focus on what you stand to gain than what you’ve lost, you’ve got many more memories to make blue…all the best & good luck

Sorry to hear about this, pal. Hope things get better.

Speak to the accessibility team at City. All big organizations are set up to help accommodate reasonable adjustments and if they're able to they will do.

According to the website: access@mancity.com or +44 (0) 161 444 1894

Sounds like Mark at City Matters might be able to advise as well. https://www.mancity.com/club/city-matters/disabled-supporters

Accessible parking is booked up months in advance, every game sold out for the when I checked a few weeks back. Having tp drop off then go park on the road, which they are trying to stop without a robust EIA.

Thanks OP for posting.
Yes Mark Todd via City Matters would be a good point of contact.
Also there is this link here to the disabled supporters association

Could be getting usernames mixed up but are you Danny that did all the football tricks and ran the charity drive for that little girl about 8 years ago? Apologies if you're not.

Don't use Mark's City Matters email, use accessarea@aol.com. He can never get his CM emails for some reason.
