Why do some posters convince themselves that certain players are going to be sold even though there has been nothing from the club or player suggesting this is that case?

Currently Delph, Danilo, Mendy are being discussed as candidates for being shown the door.

To be fair, I've not seen anyone linking Mendy with a move. Just people calling him a waste of space because he had the temerity to have two long term injuries.

You only have to look at the Sané thread. What the fuck are some people on?

Txiki, Pep, Sané himself nor his agent or Mother have come out and said a Dickie Bird about Sané leaving City. Just Bayern and the Bayern/German players/media were coming out saying they wanted Sané at Bayern.

Yet hundreds of posts in that thread have been going on about him leaving. “He hasn’t signed the extension yet so he must be off” “we’ll sell him this Summer because he’s only got two years left on his contract” “we’ll sell him this Summer because we’ll have a transfer ban next Summer” “he needs to sort his attitude out” “he’s not happy about his lack of game time”...
