It's the time of year when fans are sitting more on the edge of their seat, than any other. 0-0 after 10 minutes increases the tension, and if it still 0-0 at half time, with news filtering through from elsewhere, you have written off any chance of success.

So, what time do you think that support turns into nervous tension at City (assuming no more than a goal in it), will it filter through to the players?
I suppose I am thinking back to Liverpool v Spurs last week, when there was a carnival atmosphere.....but will there next home game be more tense now they are top?

How is it different for you as the run in gathers pace?

When Liverpool played you lot at Anfield it was silent. The cameras kept cutting to fans hiding their faces. It can certainly get like that towards the end of a crucial run in. It was a carnival atmosphere the other day because spurs were 1 down after a minute and were being shat on.

That's my point, if these games were in October for example, the longer it is 0-0, you get frustrated and that is it, however in April and May, frustration becomes panic and desperation.

If we get into the second half and haven't scored tomorrow there will be terrible nerves. City have a crowd that can get very nervy, partly because of our history of ballsing things up, and partly because we really need this title for momentum.

The title race in 2012 was worse than this in my opinion. It felt like I was on the verge of a heart attack every game. Newcastle away, second to last game of the season was frightening and obviously the emotions of the final day were out of this world.

At this stage of the season everything is to play for and feels so much more important. I love it.....and it's World Cup year!

....the World Cup will indeed provide some relaxation after the season allowing us to watch whoever wins out of Spain, Brazil or Agentina.

Yeah, the last three were bad for that. Is there anything worse than being just one goal up in a game you have to win, and being under a bit of pressure? United at home and Newcastle away were both examples. Every minute seems to take ten. Every ball in the box and your heart is in your mouth.

I was surprisingly calm going into that United game, probably because I still felt the odds were against us. The nerves truly kicked in after that game. I was a wreck for the Newcastle game.

One thing that run-in has taught me though is that anything is possible and it's foolish to overreact to individual results. Some on here wrote us off after drawing at Arsenal last week (!), but we chased down an 8 point deficit with 6 games to go against a Ferguson side. We're in a far better position this time. I still don't think Liverpool will win their next six games.

I'd started to really believe for that derby game, but was filled with fear that they'd snatch it away. Newcastle was probably the worst, though, for nerves. That one reminded me of the big relegation and promotion do-or-dies that we were used to. QPR was sort of different. Wasn't nervous going into it, or even at 2-1 down. But as that clock marched on from 60 to 90 minutes it was just a growing sickening feeling, rather than tension, which rose to a panic and then a sort of dreadful resignation on about 87 or 88 minutes. Hard to explain really.

I think as soon as united fucked up at home to Everton it started to feel like we had a real chance which made the wolves game quite nerve wracking. I agree with Ric though, there was less pressure on us for the derby match. It was only after kompany scored that it became very tense and then it was ours to lose.

I was nervous in the 50th minute of the Carling Cup final, how did that turn out?

I find singing and getting behind the team calms my nerves but its hard work when there is only half a dozen doing it while the rest are biting there nails or moaning...

I never felt any nerves at Newcastle, I just thought we'd do it, and we did in a style that I expected. I'm feeling the same about the next 8 games, I just feel our strength will do it, as I did in 2012.

I could do without that last minutes drama though.

all the time, there's an air of expectancy at the Etihad, I say if we get to 20 minutes without it being 1-0 or having created 3 or 4 great opportunities to re-assure the fans we get tetchy.

It's a problem against a non top 4 side because against big rivals I think the fans feel the team needs a bit of extra support because the other has players of a similar stature, against a mid-table or relegation threatened side I think you naturally feel the team is good enough to win this so end up watching the game, like you would on TV a bit, and thus lose the singing and dancing stuff a bit. I think once you have the confidence and sort of assurance of the players that it's going to plan on the pitch and we're sorted that's when we all relax and start to enjoy it.

No different. I want us to win every game with a passion and I'm no less agitated after 75 mins than I am after 75 seconds!

Cannot wait for Anfield.

For the amount of money they're on and how good they are I don't care if every fan is crying like we lost the title the players performance shouldn't drop.

tell you at full time later...:-)

but in all seriousness as each game passes now the nerves seem to kick in earlier. All the wgat if scenarios played out in my head.....may I just add....come on you irons later

i was a wreck for both those games, i was in Vegas for the Newcastle game and was in a sat at a bar at 6 in the morning watching it, there was only 2 other people watching it and the guy next to me at the bar was (are you ready) A COCKNEY FUCKING RED. He was shouting every time they Newcastle went forward, moaning at every ref decision and slagging us to fuck. I was wearing a Detroit baseball cap no colours and hadn't said a word with the nerves so he had no idea i was a Blue. Let me tel you he fucking knew when YaYa scored, I jumped off my stool and was pumping both my arms at him roaring and i mean roaring. The barman shit himself and the other lad was pissing himself and shouted over "do you want a drink mate ?" i said are you a blue he said "no a Blackburn fan but i don't want those fuckers to win it" aaaaahhhhhhhhh what a day :)

#Together was the rallying call for our chasing down of the rags in 2012 - one game @ a time,one win @ a time,3 points @ a time,team,fans & club #Together =CHAMPIONS.

We need to reproduce that same #Togetherness again starting against soton. The team are definitely #Together & with an early KO @ lunchtime which often leads to a flat atmosphere it is up to each & everyone of us to do our bit & get right behind the team from first to last minute.

This could be a tight game In which soton will press, counter attack & have as much possession as City. It could get a bit frustrating. We probably won't smash them & an early goal would be a great help. But if we don't ,if it is tight going into the last 15 minutes, then we must stay with them. No moans, groans, sighs & shit! Just 100% unadulterated support we might have to win it in the last minute .

The angelic dippers have raised their game with massive, orchestrated welcomes for the arrival of the team coach (can the 1894 guys organise something similar for our next home game at the main entrance) and very boisterous support during their games. We must now do our bit,it's our duty. We've done it before,we must do it again,we must do it NOW!

#TOGETHER...................CHAMPIONS..................2014

All of our remaining home games are ones that we're expected to win. That means a very nervy atmosphere at the Etihad. Enjoy the football? Not much chance, just get the three points. Chalk off the wins. Perhaps enjoy the last 20 mins when the points are in the bag.
