Is it just us or do fans of all clubs have some sort of obsession with players/management that have left the club and therefore feel the need to hark back to the old times and 'it would of been great if he was still here'.

I admit, I have been guilty of this in the past. Everyone was in shock with SWP departing and for years we always said, 'It would be great to have him back' and I am brave enough to say (on here) that I said for quite awhile after he (deservedly) left the club that I would of had Barton back (not getting into it, so lets not go off topic).

And you look through the forum over the past few years and there's threads about 'would you have Sven/Elano/Dunne/Distin/Geovanni/Corluka/Bojinov/Gelson FernandesThatcher back?' (ok too far)

Or are all fans like this?

Seems to me slightly the opposite in that more of the Hughes out fans can't stop chirping and getting digs in at him. Agreed it should stop either way.

It seems to be the players that are having trouble with the "moving on" concept, not the fans or at least not the great majority of the fans.

HUghes fans are the ones saying they are ashamed of the club etc and causing all the trouble. Keep in mind there are a huge numbe of rags and wums on here. Its not an issue when you actually talk to city fans.

It's what they would have done anyway. It's what they've been determined to do ever since the Sheikh took over. They were desperate for Hughes to fail but when he did, they turned on everybody but Hughes. They no more or less desperate for the new man to fail. It won't change, how ever old it might be getting.

Well I dont know any and I know many city fans. None of the city fans I know care he has gone or how it happened. There pissed off with the press reaction and reaction of so called city fans though, very pissed off. But you cant blame that on the club or sacking Hughes they just love to hate city and make things difficult we have been getting this and worse since the takeover happened.

This is bound to happen - as soon as the press built us up as the 'richest club in the world' then they have wanted to knock us down. The problem is that we are shooting ourselves in the foot so we need to get more professional in the way we do things. The fact that Cook is not a football man contributed to this as he thought he could do all this without any negative reaction. We have now learned the hard way.
