Thought you might wanna know I used Foxsports' website to send an email to Simon about whether he had any news, rumours ITK's etc about the transfer period and he actually replied (least I assume it was him). Here is the reply.

Thanks for your email regarding City's signings - to be honest, I have about as much idea as you do! The contacts I used to have at City have long since departed...

I did, however, meet up with Simon Pearce a few weeks ago - have a look on the official site, and you'll see that he is a director. He was over in Sydney on holidays, and assured me the club have big plans...and they're in it for the long term. Hughes job is safe - they are very impressed with him - but the club will work on the basis of evolution rather than revolution...at least that's what he told me!

Personally speaking, I think Bridge is a good start - and Owen (if that's true) would be a good signing too. I think though we are going to have to get this season out of the way before we see a major influx....

Good lad simon though after a few beers he is a bit more forthright I can tell you and he is also a lifelong blue. fortunately his very deep rooted Blue pessimism sets him in good stead when he has to do the shows with Robbie, Spencer, Bozzie et al.
