I wasn't the world's best myself! Would get my 70p - soon upped to 90p - spends off my dad on the Saturday morning. Portion of chips and a bottle of Space Special for a grand total of about 30p and then chuck the rest in Scramble and walk out of there skint by about 2pm ;)

Around the same time, some Asian bloke opened a paper shop nearby and had a couple of arcade machines. Space Invaders 2 was one and Battlezone was the other which was another of my all-time faves. One of the best bits about the Battlezone machine in that shop was that a mate I was knocking about with at the time had a stash of old English pennies and he discovered that they fitted the 50p coin slot perfectly so one penny got us 6 credits!

I spent many days on this beauty down Oxford Rd early 80s. Used to get 10 bob or a nicker off the old dear under the pretence of going to the Odeon on a Saturday. My mam thinks i watched hundreds of films, i didn't see one! Thanks for posting, great memories.
