Used to drink that a lot when I was a student. It was cheap - that's about all it had to recommend it.

I spent some time onboard ship and that was all we had for our '2 can per day ration'.

McEwans Export, AKA 'Red Death' is quite possibly the worst beer I have ever had the displeasure of drinking.

Always reminds me of smoke filled carriages on the Preston to Glasgow train full of pissed jocks.

I’ve seen a draught Spanish lager called Madri on sale in a few places recently

tried it and it’s very nice

On draught at Didsbury golf club.
A nice drink at the 19th.

Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, which you can't get up here.

Round here - Holt's Original Bitter, an acquired taste but well worth acquiring. I mean the hand-pumped stuff, not the keg piss.

Robinson's Unicorn as it is now called (Best Bitter). But you need a pub that knows how to keep it for it to be on top form.

Black Sheep Best Bitter.

Timothy Taylor Golden Best, if you can find it. The Woolly Sheep in Skipton is a good bet.

There is something reassuring about that white can or the glass with the stella artios around it. Especially after that shite I have been having in the Grove earlier.

Beware the brewed under licence stuff.

Millstone Brewery in Mossley have a couple of beers I’ve tried, Tiger Rut and True Grit (anagrams of each other), very smooth and not too strong. There’s another Brewery in Greenfield, Donkeystone, you can visit the brewery pub, they put food on some nights and entertainment now and again, looking to visit next week, looks good, Greenfield train station is nearby so really accessible for a trip there.
