In the old days I worked on the audit of the Fed brewery, which was a genius idea of a brewery owned by the local working mens clubs. Which obviously meant it had a catastrophic business strategy, including lending back money to individual clubs on 300 year mortgages. Since then it has gone the journey and you can see it for sale next to the Metrocentre in Gateshead as you drive by on the A1 if you fancy a brewery of your own.

Anyway, back to the main point. The Fed always had a marketing plan for each beer when they tried to sell it to the clubs, and the one above, 'ACE Lager' had the best one and was marketed (due to its reasonable strength) as 'THE PERFECT BEER FOR THE SESSION DRINKER'. Now that's what is called knowing your customer.

Not a beer drinker in truth but if I will have one, do prefer several Belgian varieties but I discovered this local beer that is excellent
