I thought I'd watch that new one, the Irishman, but decided against it, as by the time you've watched it
the lockdown would have been over for about 3 months.

Fair enough. I don’t tend to care much for Hugh Grant but I think he shines in what’s a half-decent romantic comedy.

Miller’s Crossing is my favourite gangster movie.

A Bronx Tale. Hardly mentioned but I really liked. For once De Niro not playing the criminal role. Music good as well.

Up there with the best it really is, sonny is brilliant.

The first part of the film Performance is essentially a Brit gangster film. A lot of it’s authenticity was down to the involvement of David Litvinoff as an adviser. Litvinoff was an interesting character who flitted around the London underworld and arts scenes in the 50s and 60s. An excellent biography of him was released a few years ago, and is a fascinating read
