Yeh but we don’t sing you’ll never walk alone so we can’t have an atmosphere

haha thats true, the build up looked good, darkness, flags behind goal and the smoke drifting.

but of course cant show that unless it is celtic or liverpool

i think even the highlights on the city website are that dictated by tv crew and eufa that they can only show what they agree to and record.

I was really happy with Gomez, he was unlucky not to score on 3 occasions and that volley from the corner at the very end was just class. Palmer also really impressed when he came on, his dribbling is excellent and for one so young his vision is pretty good as well. Alvarez needed that goal, his work rate is brilliant and just needs to settle. Great to see Ruben get some game time as he has looked slightly off this season and Eric getting the full 90 was also really important. Just wish Bernie and Gundo could have had a rest.
Lewis looks a good prospect but I feel he is playing it safe right now (to be expected) and Wilson has always impressed me. Finally Haaland is just the best "in the box" centre forward I have ever seen, his little movements and desire is truly scary
Gomez looks good going forward but I'm not convinced by his defending but I'm sure Pep will be working on that. What I have noticed with him is that he has already been coached to switch into midfield when we have the ball. In fact , for the last couple of games he has actually been pushed into midfield , which shows the trust Pep has in him on the ball

I would start Palmer away to Copenhagen. I thought he was superb

Not usually one for these increasingly common pre match "light shows", but that was very impressive.

excellent footage, better than the highly paid tv crews, 10 out of ten there. Was good to see what it looked like, i was in lower SS, great to see how it looked again. Nice one

Absolutely loved Palmer’s cameo, he’s such a brilliant natural footballer and his work without the ball is now so much better, reaping the benefit and learning experience of playing in midfield rather than his more accustomed wide right role.
Lewis visibly grew in confidence as the minutes ticked by. Given the news about Walker’s injury, Stones’ fragility and the need for rotation to avoid a similar fate for Cancelo, he might even get a start sooner than we think.
Esbrand also looked decent.
Added to positive performances by Alvarez and Gomez it was very positive in terms of the squad, albeit the standard of the opposition has to be factored in

You may call me a Grealish fan boy but it happens a lot.

A traditional left footer left back always shines when playing behind Grealish, Targett Shaw Saka Mitchell etc. It does not mean that these LBs are not quality without him. Grealish just has that ability to bring out more from them, as long as they are not lazy to overlap/underlap. And as a return they bring out the best from Grealish as well. A truly win win.

Look at that Gomez strike. Grealish attracted enough players to him and feed it at the best moment to Gomez with perfect weight. Similar action vs Sevilla away game when Gomez put that beautiful cross - almost resulted in a Halaand goal.

Vs Man utd Grealish had that ability to hold the ball while waiting Gomez arrived at the overlapping position.

Things like these help to build up the confidence of a full back. You know it is a high chance an overlapping run will give u something - rather than just running up and down (note: Sterling).

I made this point early in the season: Grealish and Cancelo at left back is not a good combination for this reason. They occupy the same space. Your example of the fifth goal in the derby is a good one.

4th seeded København not so much to react to, would be nice to have Scandinavian giant like Rosenborg in the old days, Bodø/Glimt, København and Rosenborg should be a new powerhouse in Scandinavia and Europe.

Just for information really. I'm sure it must have been mentioned on TV but how much did the two line ups cost? Did Copenhagen cost more than the rags on Thursday?
