Just read an article in the Sunday Times about this guy. Foul mouthed bully doesn't begin to describe this obnoxious man. He managed players who in his day had no power...nowadays he wouldn't last ten seconds in a dressing room full of money rich individuals and their agents. Hope he's enjoying his legacy.

He was the last — and probably the greatest — of a certain type of football manager. I remember reading about Bill Nicholson at Spurs. It was basically like being in the army, under a kindly but severe colonel. Clough's relation to his players was entirely paternal, with everything that that entails, good and bad. And if you read about Busby in the fifties and sixties the players were simply in awe of him. That just wouldn't wash today.

Greatest British Manager. His legacy is secure: umpteen league titles, European Cup winner and smashed the Glasgow duopoly in Scotland. Loud mouthed bully? Yep. Can’t give s##te what kind a manager he was or could be today. I just want us continuing rubbing silverware under his red nose again and again. While he sees the Titanic sink when he and his gang in the media keep putting poison in that club for years to come.

Yes, he put us through misery for 25 years while winning everything ... but he also ran Utd down toward the end, didn't prepare any kind of succession, recommended Moyes, got irrationally bitter toward City during our resurgence, hangs around in the background scowling at successive managers' failings, etc.
Through his ego & arrogance, he's partly responsible for where Utd find themselves now.
