Off the pitch, I (somehow) only recently found out the transfer was £34m, not £30m, but he paid £4m of the £34m to Shakthar to make sure the deal went through. Love the man and I'm glad pundits have recently woken up and realised how pivotal he is.

That great South American football Sage Tim Vickery would probably still insist that Pauliniho is the better player. Like Dave we have known for years just how good he is but the wank arse pundits have only just now cottoned on. Irreplaceable player.

I have no more words to describe this man.

When he leaves we need to have 2 players to replace him there is not another player like him he does it all Magnificent player.

What pisses me off is that people only praise him for his defensive game and “doing the dark arts” whatever the fuck that means.

His ability to create attacks is the best in our team, everything goes through him, his passing is exceptional, his dribbling is not flashy but it’s very efficient. He’s an all-rounder, not just a defensive player. He is EVERYTHING!

He does the simple things that count and often overlooked. Watching at the Etihad of him off the ball he is a very intelligent player with physical presence above his weight. There were a few times in the past when he hit a rough patch but I blame this on him being overplayed.

More so that KdB, if he in the few games we recently lost the league table would look different.

tbf Paulinho was doing very well in Brazil and he proved at Barca how good he is, just didnt work out at Spurs.

Most pundits are fools but I always remember Jamie Redknapp did a column for the Daily Mail in 2013, said Fernandinho was the signing of the summer. Considering comments from his peers about most of the players we sign i was shocked!

At his best, better than any centre-mids I’ve seen at the club including Yaya. At his worst, he goes missing and doesn’t really ask for the ball - and why he’s often criticised for the Brazil team. He normally has the latter period towards the end of the season and I think it’s often mental exhaustion at having played so many games. Hopefully, not playing for Brazil means we see the very best of him all season long now because we’re gonna need him.

Goes missing, I think you have something missing.

He is an absolute fucking warrior.

Every challenge a battle. Every game a war. He is never found wanting. Beats bigger men in the air and on the ground. He has a heart the size of a watermelon and the lungs to match.

You'd happily follow a man like that over the trench

He’s the most complete midfielder in the world.

His technical ability is vastly underrated, and he seems to be getting better with age.

I think it’s fair to say he’s our most important player.

Goes to show how difficult is it going to be replacing him when the time comes. He's one of a very short list of players in the world who could've put in that shift last night. Unbelievable performance.

No I just don’t have the memory of a goldfish. He’s had some really poor patches for City, unbefitting for a player so amazingly gifted both physically and technically. He’s also had some absolute shockers for Brazil - in the 7-1 against Germany for example. That said, when he’s at his best, he’s better than anyone.

He’s had shockers but never gone missing.

He’s always put himself about despite having poor games... very occasionally

He’s been a colossus for us
