Fernandinho (continued)

Yet Jo is in the Brazilian national squad and Fernandinho is not. Does not compute
This x 1000. Doesn't matter if they're overstocked in his position, I can't imagine *all* of them have his work rate.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Me being selfish I don't want Fernandinho to go to the world cup.

This first year in the prem will take alot out of him and if we are going to go again on all four fronts next year then we need our very best players fit, well rested and raring to go.

Playing in the world cup is a distraction in my opinion and the less city players go the better!

Nasri, Fernandinho and Aguero are all maybes now for Barca, now let's hope the other key players can stay fit.

Unbelievable how essential he has become in such a short space of time. I suppose that's testament to how good he's playing.

I just want us to have a fully fit squad to show that we can play even better.

PhysioRoom has Fernandinho fit for the Chelsea Cup game. WOW if that's really true.

That's great news.

And if Jovetić can play for an hour or so against Norwich and maybe Sunderland, he will hopefully be fully match-fit for the chavs' visit.

Fingers crossed.

It's also testament also to the way we play with him as the only holding midfielder, and the lack of quality cover in that role. Garcia and yaya aren't mobile enough.

They never will be and that's why we need some quality coming into the summer in the holding position particularly given the way we play and will continue to do so.

Or demi, Rodwell could have been I reckon but not sure if injuries have lost him his chance.

By the sounds of it this Fernando would have been perfect, hopefully get him in the summer.

Pellegrini has said it will be "at least 15 more days" before Fernandinho is available - hope this is just a bluff, otherwise that rules him out of the Barcelona game.

The same way Mourinho is bluffing to make it sound like City are favourites and were ready made to win the league whereas Chelsea weren't, Pellegrini has over played injury timeframes all season with the exception of those the club could not decipher (Jovetic and Rodwell). If Pellegrini says 15 days I would expect to see Fernandinho play some part in a game within 10days.

I would. I'm not sure Pellegrini is a big bluffer to be honest.

I don't think I've ever sweated on an injury like this one before.

I have, many more have given me concern, lakey for one.

If he is out for Chelsea and Barca then I'm concerned for our chances of progressing in the cup and fear Barca may become a damage limitation exercise. Maybe I'm still a bit depressed from the Chelsea league game but that was the first time this season other than Munich at home that I have seen us be second best. If Milner is fully fit then I fully expect us to play 3 holding players rather than the normal 2 in both those games if we are without Ferna.

You only properly realise how good someone is when they are missing.
Fernandinho is as vital as anyone to City now.

We weren't gunning for four trophies then though ;-)
