Was never in doubt really was it. He's been immense for us for years and shows no sign of any drop off in performance. And when we have Pep saying he wouldn't get in the team because "Fernandino is a much better player than me", it was pretty obvious Pep rates him!

There’s no player around in world football that can do what he does as effectively as he does it. With apologies to both KDB & Merlin, he is still The one player in our squad that is totally irreplaceable when injured.

To think he was “allegedly”, only brought in as makeweight, to help Fernando settle over here, was a piece of luck beyond measure
