Fernando Llorente

If there´s a shred of truth in this it´s the end for Edin. Like for like Llorente is a better all round player. Controls and holds the ball up better and puts himself about more - just my opinion

If this is true its like for like with Dzeko heading out of the door. Seems a strange one if true when the big,bad Bosnian already fits in so well with his teamates if not exactly our preferred style of play.

Very similar basic abilities but Lllorente is much stronger physically & spots a pass better. But I like Edin & would be sorry to see him go.

this is on caught offside(i know!)looks like its been taken from some interview from the telegraph...

Striker to speak with new club on Wednesay.
The agent of Manchester City and Tottenham target Fernando Llorente has revealed the Spain international is considering a move to the Premier League.
Llorente wants to leave Athletic Bilbao this summer and is refusing to extend his current deal with the Basque club.
Serie A giants Juventus were thought to be leading the race for the 27-year-old but the star’s representative, Arino Bajo, says it is ‘very, very possible’ that Llorente will join a Premier League side.
Spurs have long been linked with the striker, while Bajo also revealed that a club from Manchester -believed to be City – are also in the hunt.
“[On Wednesday] Llorente will speak to his destination,” Bajo told the Daily Telegraph. “It is very, very possible he will decide to go to the Premier League.
“I don’t know the [choice of] club at the moment but there are two [interested] clubs. One is in London, and one is in Manchester.”
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has made no secret of his desire to sign a new striker this summer, with Jermain Defoe currently the only senior forward on the club’s books.
“We are looking for another striker,” said Villas-Boas. “It has been a difficult two weeks. With what we can do in the market, it has been difficult to live with.
“We have been in touch with a couple of players for that position. For one reason or another, it has stalled and it hasn’t happened. But it doesn’t mean it can’t happen in the next couple of days.
“That is the reality of the Premier League – we can’t survive with two strikers only. Even with three or four, there are clubs who have five.”
Manchester City are also thought to be in the market for a new striker, after missing out Robin van Persie.
But the Champions must first offload Emmanuel Adebayor – ironically to Spurs – before they can bring in Llorente.

Really don't see how this guy would fit into our team. He scores goals from crosses and long balls into the box. Like Dzeko, he wouldn't fit our system.

Llorente on a BOSMAN!, got to get Silva to have word
not much between him and Dzeko but for FREE!
would be a regular at Chelsea,
Dont want him rocking up at another premier league club, that's for sure

I'm not sure about that but it's interesting to see us linked with three high profile players approaching the end of their contracts - Llorente, Huntelaar, Cole. If we want to combat FFP without weakening our squad too much then we could do worse than say sell Dzeko/Mario and get Llorente/Huntelaar on a free, sell Kolarov and get Cole on a free. I wouldn't see those 'swaps' while probably making around £25million and keeping the wage bill about the same as weakening our squad much at all. Anyone agree?

I would say the swaps you mention would actually strengthen our squad
