Disagree - good player just in the wrong team. Good defensive midfielder for a team not looking to pass it into the net.

Agreed. Was always going to be disastrous in a 2 man midfield, and even as a dm in a 3 man midfield possession team. Really a specialist that you have mark an opposing #10 out of the game, if you were up goals in the return leg of a knockout match. He is the sort of player type no longer needed with all the 3 man back lines.

Which part do you disagree with?

If he was a very good player he wouldn't be heading to the club and league he is doing. The top clubs would all be in for him.

Decent for a team parking the bus.

I thought this when they signed Matic. Fernando is a better DM than the vastly overrated Matic and incredibly cheaper.

DM is kind of going out of fashion at the top teams right now so there's not much need for him otherwise i could see Fernando going to Galatasaray and then moving on to a better team the year after
 
Seems like a top bloke and always has a smile on his face. Not good enough for a pep team but always tried his hardest and wish him all the best.

Good players can adapt, Fernando is an average player with decent defensive capabilities. You aren't beating Barca/Real/Bayern/Juventus/PSG if you can't pass the ball under pressure.
 
Bought for £12m, 3 seasons later with two years left on his contract, he's getting flogged for a reported £5m.

We don't have to be nice do we? Good luck to the lad, and all that, but, whoever sanctioned his purchase should have left the club long ago. Indeed, suicide would have been understandable.

Can't believe we're getting any money at all.
Seems a nice lad, but I've played against many who are still better than him in our veterans league.
