Ferran Soriano new CEO

IMO, the following passage in the OS article is significant:
During his time at Barcelona, Ferran led and managed the Club’s turnaround from revenues of €123 million and losses of €73million to €308 million revenue and €88 million cumulated profit within five years. He also oversaw some of the biggest commercial and media deals in the industry and devised fan acquisition and relationship models and concepts for real estate development.

I think that gives a significant clue as to why he has been chosen and what his objectives are.
I hope we're not buying any of Chelsea's fan base.

serious question how important are roles like this in a club we went 12 months without one and won the leauge and still signed fantastic players now this guy probably adds a million to the wage bill whats he goin to do that isnt ready being done ?

these roles are about leadership, setting a direction that others follow

in the short term you can survive without it but over time you suffer

I am not expecting Soriano to set up the winner for Aguero just expand our revenue streams which the mcfc website explains he is very good at

The interesting thing, as some have alluded to. is that the talk 7 months ago is that one of his conditions of joining was that we brought in Txiri Beguiristain - Barca's former academy chief - to run our youth set-up. No word of that yet, but here's to hoping he didn't forget or drop the request...
