None of our attackers under Pep really kicked on in their first season. Usually got better after a year

Under the last three managers, the only attacking player who completely hit the ground running and kicked on from there was Sergio. And he is a once in a generation forward. Dias is a notable case among defenders to have delivered immediately.
Players are not robots with a switch at the back.

Negredo hit the ground at full pelt then stacked it into a ditch.

Gabby was good from the start too. goal and assist on first start and ended with 7 goals & 4 assists in 10 games.

I honestly miss Negredo, despite his short time with us. Think Pep would love him; robust, hardworking and excellent ball technique.
 
They're playing against infinitely inferior opposition is a big reason.

Great finish but it's the rest of his game that needs to improve. Can only be good for his confidence to continue to score for Spain though. One of the few who will have benefitted from international duty.
Guess his goals against Germany were against inferior opposition....
