And it will be more than that in our accounts. Signed for £21m on a 5 year deal, so after 1.5 years his value on the books is £14.7m. So if we’re getting £55m ish, the profit is more like £40m in terms of what we actually see in our accounts.

Apparently we've spent a it £27mil (inc the add ons that have been triggered) on him and we're guaranteed £47mil and probably get £55mil

Really healthy profit on a player who does have a lot of potential but let's be honest...hes not going to be a huge miss

He may end up being worth more than £55mil....but right now he's not and he won't unless he gets proper game time

Good for Barca as they are getting a player better than they have (which is a indication of this Barca team more than anything), Torres becomes the main man of a European giant in his native country, we get a big fee/profit and we don't weaken the first XI

Also ensures the route to the first team isnt blocked for a Palmer, Delap, Mcatee etc.

All that it has done is weaken our squad as we are coming into the he business end of the season I’m not saying we should never have did Torres but get rid of him in the summer when we will bring in players . If it wasn’t Barca calling it his deal wouldn’t have happened in January very bad timing for this deal but as long as Barcelona are happy that’s the main thing .
