Now there's a bold statement if ever I've seen one.
I've been making it since the pre-season friendlies. I stand by it.

He clearly is very talented on the ball. However I will reserve judgement until he starts making key passes/assists/goals on a regular basis. Thought he was over elaborate a couple of times yesterday but obviously a great prospect once he starts to gel with the rest of the team.
What do you think guys think of B . Silva ?
I agree he is more suited for no 8 than on wings .Honestly thought he was the weakest link in the attack last night. His final balls were more miss than hit and at times too easily dispossessed off the ball. I also don't really like him in the wing role at all. I would prefer the wingers in this system to be both threats in behind and on the ball and atm he's only a threat on that side when he's either coming inside to create or when walker is overlapping him. Outside of that he can be easily defended against playing there as he doesn't have the speed and movement to get in behind or the acceleration to leave defenders once he's beaten them with his skill. He's clearly talented and is still getting up to speed with the team but I see his long-term position in the 8 role where his technical ability and creativity will be of better use to the team.

Stones and DeBruyne were absolutely outstanding, tough call between them for MOM. I thought the same against Liverpool.
The penny seems to have dropped for them both this year. For Stones, he's realised when Kompany isn't there, the team and defence in particular, needs leadership. He's taken that responsibility on this season and he looks a far better player for it. He's organising, he's getting in Otamendi's ear when he looks like switching off, he's being more aggressive when covering for players and putting in blocks. His passing in to midfield has been absolutely superb, and he really does look like he has the makings of the perfect Guardiola centre back.
DeBruyne looks so much better playing slightly deeper than the number 10 role he played when we first bought him. His strength is not on receiving the ball in tight areas on the half turn. His strength is in his incredible vision and passing range. Playing slightly deeper allows him to make the most of that. There was times last season when he wasn't aggressive enough in a deeper role, but this season he looks so much more competitive and determined that he really is becoming one of the best all round midfielders in Europe. If he keeps this form up, I expect him to win PFA Player of the Season.
