Some of spares will be from people who booked travel through thomas F**k only to have it cancelled at lunchtime today.
I'm now on some convoluted trip via Brussels!

Seen reason on other thread - flight over subscribed apparently and TC wont put on another flight.

Applications where confirmed to supporters to had purchased a match ticket on a first come, first served basis and unfortunately the aircraft capacity was reached ahead of your application. Therefore in line with the instructions given by the Club, we have to inform you that your application has been cancelled."

The point is though, they could have got confirmation of ticket sales on a daily basis, then when flight was full inform all who had not reached the criteria; not leave it until the Friday before the game. Tossers!
