SC, you are pragmatic and wise, I hear what you are saying, but I still think it is a bad deal - however I can only assume that the threats in the background from those uefa scumbags made accepting these punishments seem wise and pragmatic to the club, but for the club to dress them up as unimportant seems way off the mark to me
The only one that causes us a practical inconvenience appears to be this CL squad one. Sure, two or three players might have to be sacrificed but we can still put out a mighty team with all our major players in it.

The transfer fee cap is probably neutral as is the wages cap and the prize money being withheld. That is, neither good nor bad for us.

The revised FFP assessment process and targets actually benefits us greatly in my view.

There might be other, unwritten concessions that we've got behind the scenes as a reward for playing ball. Like no more Swedish referees or an easier team from Pot 1.

LOL at your last point, but regarding the others, the fine is a bit shit as all the speculation was that it would not hit our ffp calculations, but the fact that we get reduced prize money means it clearly does. But the 13 foreign player restriction is bad - it does not sound bad until you factor in substitutions, suspensions, injuries, rotations etc, and we are immediately at the bare bones; also the impact on current players not selected will be bad, as well the ability to recruit new players.

I don't believe it actually does affect our FFP calculations.

My understanding is that, say, if we win €40M prize money this coming season, we'll only actually be given €30M in cash. However, from an accountancy point of view, we still "earned" €40M and we'll count €40M as revenue. The fact that UEFA have withheld it does affect the fact we earned it.

I hope now, these kind of back handed favours are the reason we all hate UEFA in the first place

You've not been paying attention, we can still count the withheld CL prize money for next seasons (and the following seasons) FFPR calculations.
As for the 13+8 player cap we still don't know for certain even if it's true.
I'm starting to wonder whether City presumed 17+4 while UEFA were thinking 13+8 without saying anything to us. I've got this image of vitriolic emails and phone calls flying back and forth today with City threatening to ditch the entire thing and go the legal route after all.
This is something that keeps being missed, the first €10M prize money hit is actually on the 2013/14 season, so the champion's league campaign we've already played. The second €10M is for the 2014/15 season, so the upcoming one. After that the withholding of money stops (as long as we don't trigger the €40M suspended charge). So, by summer 2015 (next summer) we will have no more financial sanctions, we'll be able to retain all of our Champion's League money from the 2015/16 season.

Think you might be right here.
Impose a squad limitation without actually clarifying the exact composition and no rules or precedents to work from.
I foresee a compromise in the offing, 15 + 6.
And you will receive good news from an unlikely stranger......

In the present circumstances I think for a few quid we could put out an entire team of City trained current Premier Leaguers

------------------------------------------------------Westwood------------------------------------------
Trippier-------------------Boyata---------------------------------Onuha-----------------------Mee
SWP----------------------------Whelan----------------------------Barton---------------------Ireland
-----------------------------------------Guidetti----------------Sturridge--------------------------------------------

No Sturridge up top? Sturridge/Guidetti could be a decent partnership actually. :-)

edited as suggested - Micah to CB with Boyata on the bench

"your club and country needs a pointless sacrifice at this point - volunteers one step forwards!!

Perhaps a name not many have thought about, but would Pique be classed as 'home grown'?

Or was he not at the rags long enough

I'd like to believe this was true. However, having seen how the rules have been interpreted so far, always to the detriment of City, I believe we can expect the worst. The fact that this hasn't been clarified yet worries me that it is still under discussion.
