Use to go on a lot of away days with fieldsends.
A couple that stand out;

1, League cup semi at Middlesborough ,
After being stood in the paddock in the freezing cold and drawing 1-1.then being chased back to the coach , we were sat there waiting for the strollers and just before setting off we were greeted with a big piece of concrete through the side window and a girl giving us the v's.

2, Playing Derby at the baseball ground and just before we reach the car park someone throws a beer can out of the sun roof,police come on to the coach and ask who's to blame,no one owns up so they tell us no ones going anywhere till some one owns up.
Next thing another cop comes on and tells us he is a Manchester cop and then lets us proceed.

Used to go on these all the time in the late 70's, some great trips out, combined with some scary moments!

Remember a trip down to Chelsea, the coach was only half-full, and the driver was shitting himself, so much so that he put a plank of wood across the aisle, and told us that if anyone went to the back of the coach, waving scarves, he would turn back, even if we were near the ground!!

Happy days!

Remember 2 in particular.

Coventry in 77 (?) Where some Cov nob bricked the back window and our nobs started wizzing the contents of the first aid box at passing motorists on the M6.
Coppers impounded the coach til the lads owned up to it.

Shrewsbury in the FA Cup disaster.
On the way home the fog came down and the driver reduced his speed to the extent that a couple of tortoises left us for dead.

Think they stopped doing it soon afterwards and started using Finglands.

I was on the Peterborough coach which arrrived late as the driver got lost !
Used to get on it at Eccles (old) bus station.Got brick through the window close to Tyne bridge after beating the Toon in 77,freezing cold all the way back.
