There's an interesting story about that scene.

I saw Bob Hoskins on Wogan a few years ago and he said that (as of then) he'd never met Pierce Brosnan. Apparantly Brosnan couldn't get over to London for the filmimg so the bits with him in it were shot in the front of a car (in LA IIRC) and Bob Hoskins' bit was filmed in the back of a car driving round London.

If you watch it back knowing that it makes Hoskins' acting even more remarkable.

And the sound of that music always sends a shiver down my spine too. I understand they're remaking it too. Don't know how I feel about that one.
 
Apologies for kind of hijacking the thread but a bit of self promotion here – my band (exile parade) are the main soundtrack for this film coming out – directed by winehouse’s fella Reg Traviss and got james d’arcy and noel Clarke in it. Out in the cinemas next month so if you watch it then the music was done by blues!!!
Just finished recording our debut album - it’s produced by owen morris (oasis, verve, new order etc etc) – so that’ll be out in the summer as well.
