Fine Margins, rub of the Green, and Shocking Officials

lets be honest they dare not give us the rub of the green. we would win the title every year , the premier league would become stale, the plastics world wide would not tune in and the advert revenue would drop to unacceptable levels. can you imagine our side if we had a free run to sign any player we choose. there would be hell to pay. we have only just fallen short this year and we've been abysmal, had we been give the correct decisions over the campaign we may still have nicked it. that was never going to be allowed. our owners have got most things absolutely right, but not challenging platini in court is imo a big mistake. all the teams around us have strengthend on the back of platini cheating we should have blocked that.
We are not going to win the league every season if we defend like we have this year,no matter how many dodgy decisions go against us.

While the defending has been poor you have to admit that FFP has played a role in it. The back four has been completely unprotected and more money would have likely solved the problem.

For all our shocking defending, we've only conceded 9 more than Chelsea. Given that at least half a dozen of those were offside, it makes a huge difference. Chelsea have won so many games by just the odd goal while playing badly, had they had our referees handing the opposition goals, then they'd have a lot less points. We'll never know what would have happened if the referees had dealt us an even hand, but you can be sure that it would have been a hell of a lot closer

sorry for the broken record element of this, and in fairness it has already been discussed in the post match thread.

Inspite of the incompetent officials City ground out a deserved and creditable win, but a couple of minutes before Sergio opened the scoring, we were denied a clear penalty, and a subsequent
red card for Spurs, undeniably yet another game changing decision cocked up by the officials by . The referee was 50 yards behind play, but the assistant was up with play, and he saw nothing wrong - a visit to Specsavers is required.

Late in the second half, i firmly believe we should have had a second penalty, was Zabba was cleaned out after he got to the ball first.

As i posted earlier the sooner video technology is used for ALL penalty decisions the better.

The fact we won, does not alter the fact, that yet again incompetent officials changed the course of the game

No chance they will bring it in. They can't cheat.

I think these mistakes even themselves out over the course of the season tbh. Maybe somebody with a bit of spare time on their hands could look at all these decisions, for and against, then work out the potential points gained/lost.

At risk of somewhat naively leaving myself open to a possible clarkie, my only response to this is

Doh!

What on earth do you think the last 1200 + posts over the last month have been doing

You could carry on talking about this forever but the simple fact is there is nothing anyone can do about it.

If there is an agenda, if refs are biased against us then what can we do?

The anti city campaign hasn't worked that well in the last 5 years considering what we have achieved has it?

Things are supposed to even themselves out over the season but frankly I don't thing that is true in our case.

Also the way the media reacts to any slight chance of a penalty against us by ranting on about them after a game and totally ignoring any shouts we had is disgraceful.

You can do what we did in January 2012. ;-)

Was that when we complained about Mason and asked for him to be removed from officiating our games
