If we were to finish 5th would we enter the champions league in the group stage or would we need to go through qualifying, anyone know?
So if City won the FA Cup this season but finished 6th, based on your scenario, we’d qualify for the Champions league winning 6 games, 3 of which were against Salford, Orient and PlymouthIf we get an extra champions league spot, it should be going to the FA cup winners in my opinion. 4 for the league is more than enough.
Yes. But that's the luck of the draw.So if City won the FA Cup this season but finished 6th, based on your scenario, we’d qualify for the Champions league winning 6 games, 3 of which were against Salford, Orient and Plymouth

No, no, no. The FA can award the CL places to whoever they like. It must be true as so many know-nowts keep coming out with it on radio phone-ins.You don’t get to choose.
UEFA award the extra place to the team who finishes highest in the league who hasn’t automatically qualified for the Champions League, in the two countries who win the extra spots.
FA Cup Winners get Europa, unless they qualify for Champions League anyway.
Historical coefficient says hiLet's be honest, 5th place was brought in when it was thought the rags had turned the corner. No way they could now change qualifying to 13th place. Hence the court case and replacing us with the greatest, bestest, team on the world, who have graced the chimps league.
Agree with this, make the FA Cup feel like a big competition againIf we get an extra champions league spot, it should be going to the FA cup winners in my opinion. 4 for the league is more than enough.
Even better if we went on to win it next yearI hope we finish 5th and get a CL spot.
Then all other fans will moan that we only got in through the back door.
We can then thank the other teams in Europe for getting us the extra spot.
