Is it me or does the ground look weird? i know it's a different camera angle but the whole ground just looks weird!

that game was the first time I had seen coms, I actually swore out loud when I first saw it, still one of the best grounds in europe.

im so glad you posted that i watched the vid and just after the benarbia bit there are supprters stood on the corner of the east stand level two with a flag one of them is my uncle ( bottom row 2nd from left) who died in thialand in april last year and it brought back some good memorys

It's because the cameras were up on the top of Level 3, on the gantry underneath the roof. After this game, the 'telly people' said that you couldn't make out the players properly. So a lot of season ticket holders were moved from the bottom of Level 3, to make way for what is now the permanent TV gantry.

I was there. Remember walking in to the ground and just stood in awe of the place. Spent the whole game smiling and looking around.

I'd completely forgot that Seaman played for us............how long was he with us for?

Did he leave to go ice dancing on Saturday nights on the bbc?

My memory's fucked.....

Retired in the January of that season with a shoulder injury.

Ta mate - my memory's coming back a bit - was the shoulder injury just a smoke screen cos he was getting a bit long in the tooth and saw the bright lights of the telly winking at him?

I'm sure it all seemed very convenient at the time.

And he retired the week before we played at Highbury, guard of honour from both teams.
