Fixtures Calendar - 2021/22

Course it fucking matters you fucking clown, Momentum, good starts, make a huge difference.

Look how far we were behind after the Tottenham away game last season
Did it make a difference then?
In 2015, we won the first 7 games. We then played West ham and lost. We didn't win the league that season. Proof that it matters not how you start the season. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Early season form doesn’t normally have a big impact unless another team goes on a mad winning run, a bit like we did 17/18. We were atrocious early on last season and I was sure we weren’t going to make top 4. I think we’re in for another rough start seeing as most of the squad have only just started their holidays. Letting the players have a significant amount of time off after a few years of the chaotic schedules will do them some good.

Preston friendly needs putting on @MAG
Sorry mate, that's not gonna go into the calendar. I had thought about it when creating the calendar and decided to start from August and leave July out which might be one or two friendlies ... given the shape and format of the calendar August this year to May next year covers everything over 10 months (so two rows of five months each, five in 2021 and five in 2022). Adding the 11th month just for a one off friendly was going to mess up the formatting of the calendar. So for the July date (which will be only this Preston one), you will have to put it in your own diary and any friendlies and pre-season games that fall in August will be reflected in the calendar.

Edit: @blue b4 the moon On second thought, I have squeezed July with August :)

Calendar is great. Just 2 changes needed for Carabao Cup on calendar - push the quarter final back a week to week before Christmas and bring semi final second leg forward a week so it is week after first leg. Cheers.

Short answer: No
Long answer: What you suspect
Not just that but the likelihood must be that games will be played with crowds in the early games, with further Covid outbreaks more likely and dangerous in the autumn winter, so the adds are we play spurs scum dippers chavs and Leicester away with crowds and at home maybe without crowds. Those 5 away in the first 6 aways is a mathematical fucking miracle

Agreed.
There is another way of looking at it though - they all have to play us ! :-)
