Fixtures Calendar - 2023/24

When was it ever at 5.30pm?
When they first announced it (internally to themselves - in their heads probably) ... I guess Sky has that 5:30pm slot, so first that's what it was then the swapped with TNT slot and we're only finding it out after that shuffle has already taken place ...

Usually TV companies pick it, send to PL, who send it to clubs, they can agree or object, they check with their local police arrangements etc. and confirm back to PL ... who confirm and announce it all. So that's when that back and forth took place behind the scenes.

I am right in thinking Spurs home will be locked in for Saturday 2nd considering we play Leipzig Tuesday before and villa Tuesday after…

It’s an absolute disgrace moving this from the 5:30 slot due to objections from the plod. We play the Rags at 3:30 on a Sunday, we’ve played night matches against all the top clubs over the years, ffs there will be around 2k Dippers for this game, if the gobby cunts want to cause trouble they’ll do it at 12 noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, take your pick. Always the victims it’s never their fault and it’s fuck all to do with Hillsborough.

Don’t disagree but bottom line is, without plod approval there’s no game.

On a Sunday, as with the United game, there’s more room for compromise. I’m sure the police were pushing for an earlier kick off than 3.30 but Sky would have been desperate for it to be the main event, rather than swapping it with the earlier game, as they did for Arsenal, Tottenham recently.

But on a Saturday, it’s 12.15, 5.30, or even later, so there’s no real room for negotiation.

The later the better for me. I’d be happy with a Spain style 10 pm KO.

But if the police are saying 5.30 is too late and they’re not budging, 12.15 is the only option unfortunately.

I’m sure you’ve seen this by now Stephen, but it’s actual confirmed for 12.30 on the Saturday now, not 12.15.
