Having been plagued with crashes and stuttering/freezing of flash content including streaming sites while using the latest versions of Chrome and to a lesser extent FF recently (notably worse since the last 2 upgrades of flash), I looked a bit further into it and found the following:

The speed of Chrome actually depends on memory leak. Im not really that technically minded but it seems Chrome relies on more and more of your memory the longer the browser is active and with flash extensions, memory used can creep up to 1gb and beyond. Eventually it will push the limit and crash. It seems Chrome relies on the specs of your computer rather than the speed of your internet connection.

A temporary solution is to close all your browser instances and flush out your cache before restarting.Hardly an ideal workaround since memory is used up so quickly when restarting streaming content.

After having tried various fixes including uninstalling/reinstalling flash, reverting back to older versions of both flash and chrome,Ive come to the conclusion that until Adobe finds a solution were stuck with what we got. I dont believe Chrome or FF can provide a fix without a major rewrite and essentially change the way the programs work.

I'd be delighted to be proved wrong about this and if anyone has any different solutions it would be great to hear them.
