just been chatting with a mate earlier, who remembers " flat cap mike " on piccadilly radio during the 1980's possibly, but definitely in the 1990's ?.He used to phone james stannidge up after games and always argue our corner,if i remember correctly he'd phone stannidge at nightimes too arguing the tory cause. But he was mostly on chatting about city and always got digs in with rags and held his ground, maybe he posts on here ?

James H Reeve wasn’t it ?
I remember him
no it was'nt james h ,that mike fella might of phoned him but most of the time it was stannidge he phoned before and after games on saturday,it was when tommy docherty worked with stannidge ,flat cap was always funny and entertaining but always argued city's corner ,always used to call rags out when they said they couldn't get tickets for games etc

He also had many a ding-dong with a regular rag on the post match phone in, can't remember the guy's name but I think it was him who coined the phrase 'bitter blues'. Flat Cap Mike himself was given his moniker as he who always be calling out Alan Ball and out of frustration, I think, he would slag off the squeaky one for his choice of head gear. Moving on a few years, I think Mike gave up on City as he got some involvement with a local non-league club which may have been Stalybridge Celtic. Someone here will possibly remember.
