Where is the best to get them.

I am going to work in America In July and come back at the end of November. Will probably fly from Manchester, but anywhere is fine if it saves me money! I am working in san francisco. What is the best place to go to to get a good deal. I am sure I found a return flight (non direct) for around £675 the other day but I cannot seem to find it again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. (apologies for the lack of question marks but the question mark key on my laptop has broken)

Try trailfinders. They are normally the cheapest. Book a car, hotel whatever, (even if you don't collect the car) and the price drops a lot. I go there all the time so PM me if you need help

-- Mon Jan 27, 2014 5:20 pm --

Try trailfinders. They are normally the cheapest. I have had a look, they are alll just over the £800 mark. Dunno whatever happened to that £600 odd one, ah well!!
About 6-8 weeks before is usually when the cheapest prices are released, when they start to think about trying to fill the plane. Booking now, so far before you travel, won't get you a great price.

Problem is I don't really want to leave it to chance as I have to provide my flight itinerary to the company before I leave.

Cheers for that though, good to know for future reference.

Flying in July is always expensive and depending on your return date In December that could be too.

I tended to go on expedia / last minute, com and the other sites mentioned and then I would compare them with the carrier themselves. Sometimes the carrier was cheaper - sometime not.

I imagine you would be best changing somewhere like Chicago / New York or Philly. Or even check out cheap flights direct to LA and then a local flight to SF???
Good luck!

-- Mon Jan 27, 2014 5:33 pm --

I always found it was a case of the earlier the better (I was booking 3 months ahead)
