When I had my appendix removed I was out for 7 weeks. 1 week in the Infirmary, followed by a week convalescing in general hospital, then resting at home for the remainder… it was 1976 though and an open wound operation. In the past it was 4-6 weeks out. With modern surgery it should be much less. You can never be sure.
