This shows the writers mindset in one neat little package. He is distorting the truth from the get go. FFP was brought in to stop clubs going bust, only bitter powerful types like Bayern for instance saw it as a tool to pull the shutters down. This passage along with the rest assumes a lot of mistruths. It reads like this "City are bad and we do not like them challenging the established order as we had it sorted".

It's utterly disgraceful that this article has gone to print. They claim to have thousands of documents, and yet their only method of attack is to say that we didn't care about FFP and we're prepared to go to court... and?Just read the below...

Our chairman called FFP a pinch in a public interview, we know we hold it in contempt because the whole thing is bent.
Where are the leaked emails showing how UEFA conspired to move the goalposts and screw us to keep the cartel happy?
No wrongdoing seen from city, just infantino being an arsekissing politician... he works for UEFA ffs, of course he's dodgy! What does his alleged misconduct have to do with us exactly?

Nothing in that Der Spiegel piece that's remotely shocking or out of the ordinary. On the contrary it simply confirms and gives some more detail on stuff I've written about in KOTK.
I assume the reference to "hiding costs" involved the two new companies (City Football Services & City Football Marketing) but much of those "hidden" costs were recharged to the club and they changed FFP to cover that situation anyway.
But we failed FFP and always knew we were going to fail. So why would we need to hide costs? Again, it comes back to the belief that the Annex XI exemption was going to be our get-out up to the point they changed it after it was too late for us to do something.
And it's hardly news that we felt we had a good case to sue their sorry arses. It was the first round of FFP sanctions and, as I've said, they needed to make a, statement while ensuring that they didn't get involved in all sorts of challenges. So they did a deal whereby they could claim FFP was working but that didn't overly hurt us.
