Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

No, I'm no contract lawyer either, it was a question not a counterpoint. I would guess you're right that if the actual creation of the contract was illegal, then the whole thing would be set aside, whereas if it's an element, then the contract itself is valid. But equally, I may stand to be corrected too.

I agree with that.
I just don't see any reason that the contract signed would be invalid. I'm assuming the contract falls under UK law, and any dodgy payment is UEFA rules - it seems unlikely that UEFA rules would be enough to invalidate a UK legal contract, unless Sancho was forced/tricked into signing.

They are in a state of undeclared war with UAE / Saudi Arabia. It also helps to take the spotlight off their purchases and full scale a ubuse of FFP.

There is of course there is the rags but the payments to Fletcher Moss Rangers F.C. and the head coach for Rashford, Linngard and Wes Brown can also be looked at in a very similar light.
I’d be surprised, the blockade of Qatar is much bigger than PSG and City. Although there could well be some shit stirring now PSG chap on UEFA board.

Personally, I think the Spiegel leaks just reflect the general antipathy towards us by the media in general.

I do wish that as a club we would be more robust to deal with this shit, the silence is deafening at times.
We should also start to ban these journos who are happy to eat our sandwiches and enjoy wonderful hospitality yet are more than happy to put the dagger into us at any opportunity. BBC seem to be one of the worst.
I'm fed up at the constant hatchet job on the club I love, it's disgraceful.

When the dust settles on this saga there will be some heads rolling in City's senior management. I have no doubt that we have been victims of a dirty tricks campaign but we have made it easy for our enemies. How stupid is it to put confidential information in an open email system? You would have thought we would have learned lessons from the Gary Cook/ Mrs Onuoha incident.

Spot on Bobby

Plenty of absolutely big companies have been hit by heavy allegations before (think Nike, or Nestlé for example). The second you get on the defensive you're giving people a reason to suspect you're guilty, even if you aren't. The best thing to do is let it blow over; people will ALWAYS put it behind them eventually. It'll always be there but nobody will really care.

Ignoring it is the best option; the less weight City gives to any of these allegations the less weight the public will too.
