Am I the only person to bloody hate this whole series of games? A few reasons...


1. It's basically an Excel program that's been jazzed up to look pretty.

2. (And this is the worst thing about it) It's responsible for millions of people genuinely believing that they can manage a football team.

3. (Actually, this could be the worst thing about it) It's responsible for people who quite honestly know fcuk all about football outside of England thinking that they know who are good players cos their stats are good on the game.


Football Manager? I shit it.
 
I used to play Premier Manager on the Amiga. There was a flaw in the game, if you had a 424 formation and played long ball, you won virtually every game. I used this method to take Halifax from the conference to winning the Prem in 5 years and a few F.A , league and European cups thrown in. When I left them after 7 seasons to go to City, they had an 80,000 all seater stadium.
 
I know what you mean Cheesy about people thinking they could manage teams due to there Football Manager track record and that notion being silly. I am however the exception to the rule as after guiding Altrincham to the Championship within 8 years could probably hack it at most clubs.

Football manager is good for passing the time when you have pulled a sick day or fancy bumming around all day in your undies, having an occasional wank while doing something prodictive like finding a future World Class talent from Estonia then making up at the pub later that sources in the football industry have pointed out the boys talent to you.
 
cheesy i got samaras to score 30 goals in a season and won the league with city in 07, if that isnt fucking legendary i dont know what is.

THIS. I do play on it though! Although I am well aware I am a billion lightyears away from managing a football team.

4. The stats are always scewed to the big four and famous players i.e. SWP when he was at city the first time he was dog shite, the following year when he was at chelsea he was one of the best players in the word. Now he's back at city in FM09 he's back to being dog shite again.
 
I loaded it last night. The steam thing failed half way through, couldn't load Steam.dll or something, so I tried the other way, I forget what its called. INstalled fine withing around 10 minutes. Thankfully when I came to register I didn't have all this crap thats been reported. JUst stuck in thekey code and off I went. Was playing the game within 1/2 hour of opening the box, but I think I was lucky reading all the stuff on here and elsewhere.

the steam thing failed with me went up to 28% so i cancelled it tried it again and it worked.
