Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
OK, as a cunning linguist I am increasingly despairing at football speak language being used by pundits.

Things like ''he was red carded'', rather than ''he was given a red card''

The latest one to get on my goat is ''unplayable''. What the fuck does that mean? I can understand them saying ''he is extremely difficult to play against at the moment'', but ''he is unplayable at the moment'' surely suggests that the player in question cannot play for some reason - he is unable to play?

There, that's off my chest ;)
