Was it the Wurzberg " der bombers" first 11, during the christmas truce of 1914.

1 to a sniper
2 to 18 pounder shrapnel
1 to a cunning bayonet in the gut
and 1 tripped into a shell hole.

If not: t'was us - 1906 versus the Gooners. Game was played during a heat wave.
not Huddersfield and not in the Flanders trenches but in 90 degree heat at Hyde Road. Heat exhaustion on the hottest August day on record carried off six City players but the game was completed an we lost 1-4.

We got 11 in the old div 2. 11-3 against someone but dont know who.
Correct again - the 14 goals scored in City's 11-3 victory over Lincoln City on 23rd March 1895 is the highest number of goals ever scored in any Football League Division 2 match.

peter - you should give somebody else a chance - that's 2 hits in a row and no misses ;-)

Who was the last English manager to win the Premier League?

Sorry Sir George.

I have my head stuffed of old city facts. I remember the 11-3 fact from the official stats, we used to put in the programme in the 70s
