In 1993, HFS Loans League team Congleton were forced to call off a minute’s silence to mourn the death of the club’s oldest fan... when he walked into the ground.

Who finished on the losing side in four FA Cup Finals over a seven year period?
oneill.....moyes??? with villa/everton
Looking for a player rather than a manager
don't know the time period but I know John Barnes lost 3 with 3 different clubs so I'll guess him.

Everton lost 3 out of 5 finals in the 1980's, so I wonder if one of their players also played for another side in or around that time?
Sorry Matty, not Gary Stevens either but you're on the right track now.
I think Gary Stevens is correct, at least unless my research (after you said it was wrong, so I didn't cheat!) is flawed.

He played for Brighton in 1983, Everton in 1985 and 1986 and Spurs in 1987 (although in the later he came off the bench in extra time). So that's actually 4 losing finals in 5 years!

EDIT: - I'M WRONG!!

There were TWO Gary Stevens!!!!

Gary A Stevens and Gary M Stevens!!!!

1 played for Brighton then Spurs, the other for Everton!

That's just confusing!!!

Was thinking paul bracewell
But he was injured a lot
3 for everton 1 for sunderland

Bracewell could well be the answer, he played for Everton in 85, 86 and 89, as well as Sunderland in 92. However, that's actually 8 finals so the 7 years was a little misleading (although between May 85 and May 92 is technically 7 years). When you say 7 years you automatically assume you mean 7 seasons!
