Abusers are devious bastards, but CRB (now DBS basic and enhanced) have certainly gone some way to weeding out all but the most determined in the UK. A lot of would-be abusers now get their jollies on the internet, or on foreign trips.True but it's a start.

I know someone who worked in the police on the child protection team. He says even the online abusers are getting more and more sophisticated in their ability to evade detection. That's awful, and it shows that it's not just the abused who suffer from this horrible crime.I was friends with an ex footballer (didnt make it pro) who was coached by Bennell and he took his own life around 3 years ago. At the time i wasnt hugely aware of all the goings on as he never mentioned it and i actually thought how selfish he was to leave behind his wife and 2 kids. All dawned on me watching this programme last night. Horrific.
