For any member of the City Matters Committee

When I was working we had regular back to the floor sessions. They were very valuable in picking up things that are hidden by middle management layers. If Txiki or Sorriano can’t do it I am sure they have more than enough trusted henchmen to do it for them. An after game metro trip out to Ashton might make them take some notice.
They'd probably have two private trams to carry their security teams, and GMP would clear Ashton New Road to escort them.

I'd be quite happy to leave them to walk back to the ground on their own afterwards though if it was a night match...

We used to have one and he also was the main man, what ever you think of Garrry Cook, he had the club and fans at heart.

Since Ferran became CEO the club see to have lost touch with the match going , non corporate fan.

The owners and Execs have done wonders for this club, but I genuinely hope they don't forget the match going regulars, they are the heartbeat of this club.
Brilliant post.

I’ve not got strong views on City Matters, good or bad. The Club didn’t help them by not offering a few quick wins for fans in the early days of the committee.

That said, the last City Matters meeting was a success IMHO because the Club took the decision to get fans into the ground quickly if the NFC technology wasn’t working for them. Otherwise it would have been chaos. Arsenal wasn’t so good with long queues at some gates for fans who couldn’t get to the ground early.

City need to improve customer service and quickly, we all know that. That’s said, I couldn’t work on Customer Services at City when large swathes of the fan base can’t recognise things that have been done for them including free flights to Porto, buying International class footballers and introducing safe standing rail seats etc.
Free flights would not have happened without Covid and the way they were announced left a lot out who had already purchased flights, so whilst not bad, not great either.

Safe standing was not just City's idea

While we're talking about City Sq, does anyone know whose bright idea it was to book the "Paul Hand Band"?

Shite tacky wedding band versions of "We've got Guardiola". I mean come on...if United or Liverpool did that kind of shite we'd be ripping the piss out of them. Fucking dreadful.

In general I like the idea of local young bands getting a taste of playing to a live audience though before the match. It's a good idea and I hope it continues.

These twats can get in the bin though.
Now the Beswick Prize Band playing "We never win at home..." - that I'd pay for.

Wasn't the only reason we have city matters because there was a mandate from the Premier league that clubs had to have a mechanism to discuss issues with fans? If the club are not prepared to share information what is the point of CM?
They had one. Points of Blue, that in its later manifestation was open to any fan to turn up and say their piece, with CEO, head of ticketing and head of security present to listen and answer.

I think that's a fair comment. We all know that our Customer Service operation has essentially collapsed ( a bit like my local GP service) but it has to be seen in the context of a much bigger picture...which includes us being treated to the best football ever produced in this country. Perhaps it's the impact of Covid but some people just seem to wallow in misery.
There are clearly communications problems at the club and the move to digital tickets (which I support) has been managed very poorly. The club seems very passive when it comes to protecting its reputation. A public apology and a pledge to sort out the ticketing fiasco and the customer service response would go a long way.

You might be right but your post sums up why customer services at City is a nightmare on impossible job. That said, of course it should be better than it has been I. In recent times.

Plus we had a manager who came and promised to 'drive the bus to tear down the banner' at the swamp!! And he had that banner torn down!! :-)
