I would imagine that the people performing or organising these marriages couldn't give a flying fuck whether British law accepts it or not. As long as their law or religion accepts it then that will do them nicely.

Granted, we should take action against such events occuring, but to ban forced marriages being recognised from overseas is a step too far. If another culture wants to live this way, let them get on with it, and allow them to be accepted and respected in our society, not ban aspects of their culture. Should muslim majority countries ban all western marriages from being accepted in their country? no. Let them have their way of doing things.

Stone age values? the same values the captain of the England team allegedly holds? Racism still exists, and so do forced marriages. Im not saying either are right, just showing that you can't criticise other cultures for holding traditional views when racism and capital punishment still exists in western societies, and these are things which i certainly consider stone age values.

I'll up the stakes and say I do care what happens in other countries regardless of so-called culture, religion, nationality or any other such bullshit which are not worthy of respect. Everyone should have as much freedom as can be allowed without them inflicting harm on someone else.
