Foreign owners and the Premier League.

Having worked for an American company, this is what happens. They show lots of revenue on the books, (Creative accounting), push up EBITDA and create assets that can be borrowed against or sold.
Borrow as much as possible against the assets & pocket the cash. (instead of share sales, they say) pocket any cash reserve immediately. When the company is bled dry, they sell.
Otherwise known as the US capitalism model.

This is precisely what is happening at United. The Glazers don't really have any other method of generating cash other than the Rags and Tampa Bay Bucs. When they sell they sell the debt on and vanish into the sunset. This is why they appear to have no long-term strategy. The business model is the opposite of what CFG is doing. Despite the media claims, United's wealth since the Glazers took over is nothing to do with organic growth. It is just a "get rich quick scheme" for the Glazer family.

FIFA will get their 2 yearly WC and the PL will vote this stupid idea through.

Kiss goodbye to a home Derby as you know damn well they won't let the scum lose home revenue.

Imagine the outcry if the PL voted for a closed league. Under those circumstances, we should lead a move to resign the PL and revert to the trad model.
Indeed.

Reform the Football League proper with whoever else wants to join us. We promise the EFL we will never join a Super League and we play in the Football League, FA Cup and Champions League.

Not arsed if it means more money for the Premier League franchise system and less money in the EFL. I like tradition more than money and will happily watch a lower standard of football if it meant City didn’t go along with the USA shite.

United and Liverpool can go and play in Shanghai, Burnley and Palace can go and play in Los Angeles, Spurs and Arsenal can play in Riyadh, and they can all play in the European Super League they all want so much… we’ll play Chelsea Everton Wolves Brighton Leicester Cardiff WestBrom QPR home and away every week like should happen.

Shit idea but I'm interested if only for the practicalities of which matches would be played abroad and where. United v Liverpool in the Far East would be a sell out but which team would be denied home advantage? Would City have to play our home match v the scousers in Scandinavia thus giving them 2 home games ? The idea stinks, of course, which is why it will have legs.
The Tokyo United Franchise at home to New York RedPool would generate enormous revenue

A program just aired here in Australia on the ABC which is like your BBC mainly about human rights violations by the Abu Dhabi royal family, torture etc.
They questioned whether they are fit to own Melbourne City and Manchester City plus the other clubs within the group.

If it happens it will be the premier leagues death knell, thousands of supporters will just give up and with no excitement that is the run for both top and bottom in TV viewers will eventually get bored and pick games that are showstoppers which tbh are few and far between.

The Rags will be happy as they don’t have to fix up their shitty ground, it can be sold & they’ll play around the world. Stops the MIBs invading also.
