Forgetabble games of the 90s

Went to every game City played in the 90s and there's a lot of bad to choose from (and a lot of good ones too) but the worst one for me and the one which truly epitomised the lowest points was the loss at home to Bury in the relegation to Div 2. We were truly awful that day and I remember thinking it can't get any worse than this. Bury weren't much better but having lived and worked there for so many years it was the hardest defeat to take.

These four classics from our 98/99 Div 2 nightmare were pretty forgettable.

City 0 Wrexham 0
City 0 Gillingam 0
City 0 Bristol Rovers 0
City 0 Northampton 0.

Some of the shit we have had to watch is unbelievable given what we see now.
Don't forget from the same season losing at home to Reading,Preston,Oldham and Wycombe.

Yeah, but at least we had some fight that season (re: Pollock booting the shit out of some advertising hoardings a la Ketsbaia!)...and eventually were promoted.

The season before was a heartbreaking inexorable slide towards what I thought at the time was probably footballing oblivion. Though it was oddly punctuated by some big unexpected wins which gave us brief hope - Forest and Hudders away, Boro at home. Typical City!

Forgot who we were playing but i know we lost and i spent the match sulking as i stepped in dogshit ruining my new nike air max (cream leather ones).
Watching that crap slowly go crusty on my trainers was far more dynamic than we were as a team tbh also.

Wait, we won it was against Wrexham, i think it was that match, fuck, i can't remember.

Huddersfield at home we got beat, and its when it hit home we could possibly go down to div 3 ,not remember what part of the season it was but imo the writing was on the wall after that game. dark dark days

was a Friday night match,November i think,Andy Morrison played for Huddersfield
without looking I thought it was a sunday,I knew we were on telly because I got home and they were showing the montage of the game set to music at the end of the programme music was torn by natalie umbrulia

edit, your correct ,it was a Friday night

I remember losing 0-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday when Reid was manager. Very boring indeed.
Didn't wear my City shirt that day. Never made that mistake again!
