As much as this is true I'm sick of United fans coming out with it all day..

..until I realised saying this is pretty much them saying

"crap..we're not doing very well lately..lets say this to try and save our faces"

They know they're under-performing and relying on Shrek too much

It's just another meaningless cliche.

Form either matters all the time or it never matters.

If we'd won the last 10 games by 10 goals to 0, our form would still count for nothing if we were to face Bolton, Pompey or the rags. We'd still need to go out and win the game, our prior form doesn't, and indeed can't, provide us with 3 points.

On the other hand it could be argued that since the shit have tended to win more than they lose against us that form does count as most of those derbies consisted of them as reigning champions and us as either newly promoted or about to be relegated.

It's just a meaningless cliche really. Football is full of cliches.

Form does count for nothing , you're right ......

however after three wins on the bounce , and with neither side really in a position to lose this one , it has all the hallmarks of a draw ......... especially as there hasn't been one for a while.
