It's about time a ref came out and said it, it's been obvious, for a long, long time.
If you have referees earning a fraction of what professional footballers earn, making decisions that could cost millions, they're going to be open to bribes, or their superiors in the governing bodies are, look at Beckenbaur, Platini etc, look at the recent controversies in the Olympics with refereeing decisions.
I hope an almighty shit storm ensues, this could be the tip of the iceberg that sees the house of cards that is the FA, come crumbling down, and we see rugby style referring introduced, F1 style incidents under investigation in real time for off the ball incidents ( not seen by the ref) which are decided on in 5 minutes, as the game continues.
If there's anything good to come out of this latest "ref didn't see it" incident, it's hopefully this
